I have been a financial advisor with RBC Wealth Management since 2012, when I joined my father and partner advisors in the Sherman Investment Group. As a second-generation advisor, I began participating in the family business early on, stuffing envelopes and making copies in exchange for extra pocket money in grade school, and attained an internship with UBS Securities during the summer after my junior year at Williams College. Following graduation I spent my early 20s living and working in Boston, Los Angeles and Providence, Rhode Island, before settling in the Berkshires.
Now a sole practitioner, my professional passion and primary goal for all my clients is financial security: developing it, maintaining it and seeing that future generations are afforded the same opportunity to enjoy it. The creation of financial security is rooted in the development and execution of a comprehensive financial plan; implementation of an investment strategy designed to meet the goals outlined in the plan; and ongoing consultation relating to all aspects of my clients’ financial lives. By offering clients a roadmap driven by quantitative analysis and tailored to their personal outlook, I establish a mutually understood foundation of trust for all future discussions, relieving clients of the burden of carrying all their concerns about money and their future alone. I have found that the freedom from worry that comes with addressing life's most important financial questions can allow clients to be more present with their families and the things that they are passionate about.
I have attained the Chartered Financial Analyst™ designation and the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification, and continue to pursue advanced studies in the areas of investment management and financial planning. I have passed the Series 7 and 66 exams, am licensed to sell life, health, and long-term care insurance, and I am a licensed loan originator registered with the NMLS through City National Bank.
I live in Richmond, Massachusetts, with my wife, Katie, and our two children, Leo and Audrey. When I am not working or spending time with my family, I can be found listening to the History of Rome podcast, playing the bass guitar, reading and, most recently, enjoying a CrossFit session. I am a member of the Rotary Club of Pittsfield and of the First United Methodist Church of Pittsfield and support a number of local organizations.
